HARLEY-DAVIDSON
Sunday, 28 October @ 8:00 PM HK/SIN UAE
The Harley-Davidson V-Rod is the first Harley-Davidson motorcycle to go from 0
to 96 kilometres per hour in just 3.52 seconds - nearly twice as fast as any
other Harley-Davidson bike. With its thrilling speed, liquid-cooled engine and
exterior frame, the V-Rod represents a number of important firsts for
Harley-Davidson. At the Harley-Davidson factory in Kansas City, U.S., it is up
to the engineers, designers and factory workers to ensure the V-Rod's creative
look can handle the high speeds for which it was designed while maintaining the
signature Harley-Davidson style that consumers expect. Robots engage in a
carefully choreographed dance to create the motorcycle's unique frame and
remove any kinks. The engine assembly line, which puts together the V-Rod's
powerful V-Twin engine, includes miniature cameras that monitor for any missing
parts. Inside this mega factory, workers also build the V-Rod's custom-made
cousins: Screamin' Eagle V-Rod and the Screamin' Eagle V-Rod Destroyer, the
fastest factory-built drag racer ever made. Through cutting-edge CGI, factory
footage and assembly worker interviews, Mega Factories: Harley-Davidson reveals
the makings of one of the most revolutionary Harley-Davidson bike to date |

CHINA
Sunday, 11 November @ 8:00 PM HK/SIN
Cars are racing into China supercharging its economy, and delivering dreams of
a better life. But Chinas cars are clogging its highways and spewing out clouds
of pollution. The rest of the world better watch out, because some Chinese
automakers have plans to flood the world markets with cheaper Chinese cars be
they made by GM or Chinas own Geely Automotive. We go inside the Geely plant in
Ningbo, and follow a worker after hours in the canteen with his girlfriend, and
then in the dorm he shares with seven other men. We see chairman and founder Li
Shufu at his university in Beijing, welcoming the freshmen who one day will
work at Geely, and help take it onto the worlds stage. We tag along with David
and Vivian Ren as they go shopping for a car in Beijing, and then spend a
12-hour day picking it up, getting the licence plate, and paying for it with
cash. The automobile industry and private car ownership are pivotal to Chinas
economic recovery. They promise freedom to travel and a better life. But they
are contributing to Chinas pollution. This worries environmentalist Sherry Liao
who also believes that China is adopting too many western values. Car marketing
expert Michael Dunne makes sense of it all. Call it a driving dream or a
nightmare. This is China's revolution on wheels. |
