  Hi NGC,

This is the diary I wrote during the Everest trip: it is an anecdote of the daily events. The itinerary relied on 6-9 hour drives. The nature of the roads was unpredictable, often rough and dusty dirt tracks and several river-crossings. The flight from Chengdu to Lhasa took us from 600 feet to 12,000 feet in a few hours. The highest sleeping elevation was 14,500 feet and the highest altitude reached was 17,200 feet. We trekked for 2 days in the base camp direction. As always, flexibility and a sense of humour were essential due to the rustic accomodation and Spartan conditions!

The diary expresses my personal views and feelings on the trip, the benefit I derived from the various experiences and occurrences and a brief comment on its impact on my future ambitions and aspirations related to traveling and trekking, in particular.

  Hi NGC,

Just want to let you know that we have a very different experience with this trip to South Africa. It gives us the opportunity to have a touch on the natural environment and of course it is a very adventurous trip espcially when encountering with the "BIG 5" animals. However, it is also a very relaxing trip and unlike the tour you have to move onto the next spot with a very tight schedule. We have also spent half day for a sight seeing tour and been to some beautiful places as well.

Please find some photos to share with you and if you want a different trip and enjoy the wild life, this is a good choice. Once again, thank you so much for all your efforts on the arrangement.

Thank you,
Ricky Poon

  Dear Sir/Madam,

I am Mohamed Naeem, a student, 17yrs of age, living in Abu Dhabi, United Arab Emirates. I am really proud of an international body which cares for the Wild Life of our Mother Earth.

Since I started watching Natoinal Geography Channel, I started a keen interest on photography. And I would be very greatfull if you would give me a chance to exihibit my qualities. I would NOT consider my self to be a professional nor any trained photographer, but I have belief and faith in my work. I would like to be a part of National Geography Team of Photographers who send in their pictures. I have exposure and knowledge about U.A.E Wild Life. Below are some of the pictures which i have taken as sample of my capabilities.

  Hi NGC,

I'm Darah Marie Galicia, seventeen years old from the Philippines. Eversince my parents subscribed for a cable connection, the only channel that I tune in to is your channel, honestly. I just love to watch and learn from your episodes. Whenever I watch your channel I envy the people that are behind the adventures and discoveries of your programs. How I would love to be a part of your team!

Eversince i was a kid my parents gave me very little freedom to be with other people and discover the world. They love me so much that they tend to hold me still like a baby, and that gave me very little opportunity to be part of any adventure. I have this enthusiasm for doing everything that I can, if only I have the chance to and at the same time, if my parents allow me to.

I would grab any chance to be in your team... unfortunately I didn't have the camera to join your toyota challenge, I was so discouraged when you mentioned that one must have a digital camera.

Not only do I tune to your channel but I also visit your website. When I found about this email address I took the chance to write in.

Is it possible for a seventeen years old to work and be part of your adventures? If it is, what must I do to be part of your group? I would give any help that I can give, and if I'm in your team I will not disappoint you.

Keep up the good work and may God bless you!

Darah

  Hi,

I have been an avid vieweer of your programs for about 12 years now. I reacently liked your program "Young Global Hotshots" because it showed aspects of society from other countries on how they live, show thir culture.

I like the episode especially the one regarding the Indian actor. Which led me to this email.

Maybe you could feature a local actore here from Manila. His name is Piolo Pascual. He is 28 years old. a local actor in Manila. What I find something unusual is he goes around the world [ie, japan san francisco, hawaii, europe, etc] Not to entertain the local people but the filipino people living in these countries. He is unique in a sense because he entartains people who are starved of hearing news from his home country and despite that global appeal he is still entertaining them on a global scale. He will go to milan for a month to make a movie for the philippine audience as well.

Maybe you could feature the dualitly of being popular back home as well as local appeal on an international and globall scale. You could get more info on him at http://www.abs-cbn.com.ph/

Another interesting people to feature are the spanish tele mundo actors who despite the program is in spanish is quite popular in my country to the point popular actors and actresses visit manila to do concerts and guest appearances to promote its tele-novelas despite of the big diferences in appearance and lifestyle.

Maybe you could use in one of your future episoses to feature the following:

You could feature the situation of our Domestic Helpers [the Filipina maids] who are seeking and emplying jobs of almost everywhere in the globe including the war stricken areas. The ability of these people not only to take care of these children but to hone thier cultures and morals to imbive tot he future leaders of the world. From presidents to common men these people are there to nurture the youth to make them a more responsible individual member of the world.Even sacrificing their personal families and relations just to earn their keep.

More power to your programs and I hope you could use these ideas.

Thank You
Joey Torres
