Hong Kong, 5 December 2005
- DHL's Import Express advertising campaign on National
Geographic Channel (NGC) has won the Best Business/Corporate
Campaign at the Cable & Satellite Broadcasting Association
of Asia (CASBAA) Pay TV Awards 2005 held in Hong Kong recently.
In order to enhance DHL's campaign message of how to make
'Importing' easier, faster and more reliable for today's businesses,
National Geographic Channel jointly created a series of three
short 20-second vignettes with DHL and its media agency Mediaedge:cia
(MEC). The vignettes focus on the history of importing goods
still in use today, drawing a comparison with ancient methods
of travel/delivery, and how it has changed from the past to
present. The vignettes demonstrate that "DHL = Import".
The series of vignettes included a standard 10-second billboard
closing for all three versions showcasing DHL's branding,
and adapting their own campaign creative of 'From There to
Here' and 'From Them to You', followed by the closing theme
of "Past and present importing brought to you by DHL".
"We are indeed honored to win this award. We are delighted
that this campaign has successfully communicated the unique
selling point of this DHL service - that we can make importing
easier, faster and more reliable for today's businesses,"
said Dan McHugh, Senior Vice President - Commercial, DHL Express
Asia Pacific.
"Mediaedge:cia always works closely with client and
media owner to create relevant and integrated media solutions
like these NGC vignettes for DHL. We get consumers actively
engaged with our clients' brands, leading to relevant awareness,
deeper relationships and stronger sales. It's great for this
collaborative effort to have been recognized as Best Business
Campaign at the CASBAA Pay-TV Awards," said Connie Chan
Managing Partner Mediaedge:cia Global Solutions.
The DHL "Import Express" vignettes were aired between
April and June this year on National Geographic Channel's
regional, India, Taiwan, Korea, Japan, Australia, China and
Thailand feeds.
Avinash Himatsinghani, Vice President, Advertising Sales
and Partnerships, National Geographic Channel Asia, noted,
"DHL has been the key partner for the channel and we
thank them and their agency Mediaedge:cia for their continued
support and faith in the Channel's performance and our capabilities.
The awards won at CASBAA are a testament to the innovation,
creativity and the relevance of the media solutions that we
deliver for our partners."
