Initiative to Mark the Premiere of National Geographic Channel Special
In the Womb: Twins, Triplets and Quads

Hong Kong, 23 May 2007 - National Geographic Channel Asia today announces a first-of-its-kind regional initiative - National Geographic Channel Twins Contest to mark the premiere of the 2-hour television documentary special: In the Womb: Twins, Triplets and Quads on 24 June 2007, Sunday at 9.00 pm (HKG/ SGP/ MAL).

The initiative seeks to drive interest towards the life experiences of twins, explore the knowledge of multiple births and be fascinated with the amazing journey of twins, triplets and quads from conception. A web-based micro-site has been launched to encourage interaction between parents of twins as well as individuals who are themselves twins and non-twins. The micro-site, which contains a photo gallery, story submission for twins and a voting zone, is a showcase for the diversified faces and experiences of twins in Asia.

Mr Basil Chua, Marketing Director of National Geographic Channel Asia says, "We have always been fascinated with multiple births. Each has a unique story to tell. Through this first-of-its-kind initiative, we hope those twins and multiples in Asia will get a chance to express their unique identities and share their joys in a special way with National Geographic Channel."

From 15 May 2007 to 21 June 2007, twins from Asia are invited to submit their photographs and stories for the contest. Opened to all twins and multiples, the entries would be judged according to their degree of similarities, attractiveness and emotional bonding through their fascinating stories. Chosen participants may get a chance to appear on National Geographic Channel's 54 million homes throughout Asia.

Starting 25 May 2007, viewers could get online to the micro-site and vote for their favorite twins, where photographs and true stories reveal all the emotional ties of twins and multiples. Voting session is updated weekly for the 3 categories: "The Most Indistinguishable Twins", "The Most Inseparable Twins" and "The Most Irresistible Twins". The winning twins will receive a National Geographic In the Womb: Twins, Triplets and Quads DVD set and a limited-edition National Geographic Weekender Bag.

Additionally, all participants will be invited to a special gathering and cinema sneak preview on 13 June 2007, Wednesday in Hong Kong, 15 June 2007, Friday in Singapore and 16 June 2007, Saturday in Kuala Lumpur (subject to seat availability).
