Since only locally produced films are eligible for The Golden Bell Awards,
NGC’s “Taiwan to the World” series, a first-time endeavor with Taiwan’s local
production companies to produce films about Taiwan, received great recognition
through this year’s Golden Bell Awards (Taiwan’s Emmy Awards) nominations.
“Taiwan to the World” is a pilot project to promote films made by Taiwanese
production companies jointly funded by National Geographic Channels
International (NGCI) and the Government Information Office, Republic of China,
Taiwan (GIO). Continuing NGCI’s ongoing endeavor to further develop the
documentary filmmaking skill base in Asia, the initial project commissioned
four production companies filmed in Taiwan and bring this talent to the notice
of our global audience in 164 countries and 27 languages worldwide.
